A young filmmaker in New York, weeks from his Netflix pitch and months from the love he just lost, returns home to bury his grandfather and discovers a sealed letter, an unanswered question from 2003, and the unfinished story of two lovers buried in the same grave by the man who tried to keep them apart.

Synopsis
A frame-narrative epic romance. In the present, Prudhvi, a Telugu film student in New York, comes home to light his grandfather's pyre and finds a brass key, a sealed envelope and a 2003 newspaper asking why only a few love stories are remembered. In a village divided by a painted white line, an old man with a crooked hand tells him the story of Ram and Siya - a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl whose love grew without a single spoken word, and ended in a single grave that brought a village together for the first time in forty years. The answer to the newspaper's question turns out to be the answer to Prudhvi's own life.
The vision
I want the film to feel like a letter read aloud - patient, intimate, and devastating in its final page. Natural light, long takes in the 2003 sections, handheld urgency in New York. Silence does most of the talking; the score arrives only when the lovers finally speak.
