Backing Interest is a non-binding signal. It is not money, escrow or investment capital.
Current Chitram Funding Model
Chitram may display:
- project funding requirements;
- backing interest;
- supporter counts;
- audience interest;
- investor interest; and
- similar project metrics.
Unless expressly stated through a separate transactional product, these metrics do not represent funds held by Chitram.
Backing Interest
"Backing Interest" means a non-binding indication that a user may consider supporting a project.
Backing Interest is not:
- money;
- escrow;
- a deposit;
- a pledge enforceable against the user;
- investment capital;
- equity;
- debt;
- profit participation; or
- guaranteed project finance.
Aggregated Amounts
Where Chitram displays an aggregated backing-interest value, it represents user indications based on Platform data.
It should not be represented as "money raised", "funding secured" or "capital committed".
Future Reward-Based Campaigns
Chitram may later introduce reward-based project support.
If activated, such campaigns will be governed by separate campaign and payment terms.
Unless expressly and lawfully structured otherwise, rewards should not be interpreted as:
- securities;
- shares;
- equity;
- interest-bearing instruments;
- guaranteed financial return; or
- entitlement to film profits.
Creator Responsibility
Campaign creators remain responsible for:
- project execution;
- reward fulfilment;
- production;
- representations;
- use of campaign proceeds;
- tax obligations;
- licences; and
- refunds required under applicable terms or law.
Project Failure
Supporting a creative project carries risk.
Films may be delayed, altered or cancelled.
Chitram cannot guarantee completion or release.
No Assured Delivery Date
Production timelines are estimates unless contractually guaranteed by the actual project creator.
Payments
Where Chitram permits actual payments for a permitted funding product, payment processing may be performed through regulated third-party payment providers.
Terms, fees, taxes and refund conditions will be displayed before payment.
Investment Discussions
If a user wishes to pursue an investment offering financial return, that proposed transaction must be separately structured and documented in compliance with applicable law.
Public project pages should not be used to circumvent private-placement or securities requirements.
